3 Question Thursday – Colleen Strube

If you’re a business owner or a professional that does any type of networking around Frederick County, you’re bound to know Colleen Strube. Networking is her passion. She loves meeting new people and especially loves helping other people grow their businesses. A sort of business matchmaker, if you will.

Colleen has a successful business with a company I adore, Send Out Cards. It’s a great service that allows you to send personalized greeting cards and gifts from the comfort of your home. Envelopes have a handwritten font and appear to be a true hand addressed envelope complete with a stamp, not computer generated. Send Out Cards is perfect for the business owner or a family that just wants to keep in touch. They have a monthly subscription service and are offering a special for January. More about that later. Let’s learn about Colleen first.

What’s your favorite part of being a business owner?

As a business owner, I love the flexibility it provides. I can choose when to work and when to play. I love that all I need for my SendOutCards business is a computer, internet connection, and people who will let me share my services and story. I also love that I control my destiny. This can be scary but so rewarding.

Share about your family now – a husband? Any kids?

I live in a house of boys. I guess that’s ok I was never a girly girl. I’m so blessed to have such a great husband. We just celebrated our 25th anniversary in October. He owns and works for the family construction company. I can’t believe he is out in the weather everyday. Be it 5 degrees or 95 degrees. My boys are awesome. I know because others tell me so. Daniel (24) is in Florida for 3 months working on his golf game. He has a dream to play professionally. Spencer (22) is working on his MMA career. Yes that cage fighting stuff. He won his first professional fight in April. Jason (17) is a senior at Urbana High School. I can’t wait for baseball season to start. I love watching my boys compete.

What are your big dreams for the future?

Being able to travel when and where we want without worrying about finances because my residual check will cover it. My goal is to have team members in every state and country. I would love to be able to visit and help others grow their business. I want to be able to travel to see my boys and (future grandkids) compete.
